I really doubt any sort of US action could lead to the EU fracturing.

If anything, having to deal with the US has brought us closer together. On one side there’s Trump making a fool of himself and of the US. On the other side there’s Musk, thinking he can take on European unions and actually win, because he thinks he’s still in the US, and in the middle there’s what i like to call the sheep pen of tech companies. We shear their wool for fines on privacy violations every couple of months to fund our regulatory organs.

I get that, i really do, but sometimes you just gotta take the loss for being unpopular if the cause is right. Israel is less popular today than it was yesterday. Sometimes you can’t help that your core principles are not valued by the majority at the moment, for whatever reason. If events change the minds of people, there’s a steady alternative to go to. To debase one’s principles to appeal to the right wing voters will only make their constituency not vote. People who are right wing won’t vote left because they are more anti immigration or more pro Israel. But people who vote left won’t probably vote at all if the alternatives are right wing or right wing light. They just won’t see themselves represented at all. Then you get low voter turnout.

Yeah no wonder conservatives are winning victories all across the democratic world. It seems the left wing has suffered a collective lobotomy. We live in a world where the left is fragmented in purpose, condoning the unacceptable, and ineffective in climate action. It would be cool if the left was, you know, actually the left, instead of trying to be more like the cool right wing because they think that’s what would win them more votes. Have some dignity, guys. Nobody is going to vote for the second, third or fourth best party at being right wing.

At the end of the day you can blame the electorate all damn day or you can recognize the embarrassment that is the US democratic party and the campaigns they ran, completely missing the mark.

Better do it with the army conducting training exercises nearby then. Appeasement doesn’t work with these kinds of people. They will strike and if conflict is inevitable, might as well push your enemy to meet you on your terms rather than when they’re ready.

Of course i don’t mean striking first, certainly not in this situation. But carrying out defense within one’s borders isn’t exactly something the international community would see as a valid enough cause of provocation for a preemptive strike. Israel is losing support worldwide and cracks are starting to form in their economy.

Imagine if Ukraine had properly built defenses when it was clear Russia was about to attack them, instead of starting to build them 6 months after Russia invaded, hoping they wouldn’t attack. The amount of manpower they would have saved. How many times must history teach the same lesson over and over again. How come we even have armies like the Lebanese army who wouldn’t even defend their own citizens from an invading foreign force just to appease. It just doesn’t seem right to me.

It’s a matter of time until Israel starts taking Jordan land as well. The writing is on the wall. If i was responsible for defense in Jordan, I’d start constructing defensive fortifications, anti air and military communications infrastructure as soon as possible.

I don’t know how much that would help though, the US will actively put down anyone who tries to defend themselves from Israeli expansion.

Why rebuild something when you can repurpose it ?

In many places around the world old structures like warehouses, train stations, churches, convents, fire houses and other things are seen as an architectural opportunity to repurpose as housing, usually due to cost, but that lead to very unique dwellings that end up influencing other houses that are built from the ground up. Architects pounce at opportunities like this. The results are often superior to what a standard house built from the ground up would be.

I mean, i can see why. What are a few drugs, tax fraud and gun felony next to being cumplicit in the genocide of an entire people.

So yeah, there is no credibility for the ICC. Because of the actions of these countries, the ICC is now a theater court for theater cases. The whole world was watching and it was demonstrated that its use is merely a political tool for countries that aren’t part of a specific sphere of influence and not an impartial court of international law.

I have to say i don’t actually believe Europeans are scared of this sort of threats. We know what’s at stake for the US here. It would take a lunatic to actually do anything of this sort. Yeah, it would be bad for us, but it would be awful for the US.

Earlier this year, when republican senators started threatening EU countries with sanctions for rejecting Israel policy, everyone kind of just shrugged it off. There wasn’t any real concern. Everyone was mostly going like, ok let them do it then. I’m feeling a sort of exhaustion from US drama in the political atmosphere around here.

I would honestly like to see how that would pan out. Obviously this is just a clueless senator pulling things out of his ass for political points, but the worldwide scandal of a US military incursion against an international court of law inside a NATO country would have massive repercussions. It would destabilize US partnerships, diplomacy and it would tarnish US standing even more than it already has been for the last 20 years. Every US opponent country would love for this to happen. This would definitely not go well with EU countries, most of which already said they would stand by the ICC’s decision. Arab countries would turn on the US and third world countries probably would too, as the ICC case is massively popular with both those two parties.

I doubt it would spark a war between the US and the EU, but it would certainly sour relationships real damn quick.

Oh yeah, many times. I’ve had a guy run his hands through my hair and push a boner against me. I’ve had a teenage girl lick my bicep and giggle at me with her friends. I’ve had an older woman just grab my butt and pretend she didn’t do it. There was another guy who was just petting my shoulders and leg, discreetly through the crowd.

It’s just those things like what are you gonna do as a guy ? Report it ? Hey mr officer, a teenage girl licked my arm and then her friends giggled at me, if you run you can still arrest them ? I’ve never been at risk of being raped though. I am pretty muscular. I can see how it would be scary to be and much, much worse.

I honestly think it’s ridiculous our public transportation is so unsafe to warrant this, but if it’s necessary, then so be it. But if we’re going to make women only carriages we should make an equal number of men only carriages, because not all women will use the women only carriages and i don’t want my available commute space compromised because authorities can’t keep public spaces safe for women.

I know it sounds a “but what about men” comment, but let me explain why. At my gymn, we used to have an open space for everyone. Then they decided to segregate about 1/3 of the space and make it ladies only while the remaining space was to be for everyone. The result is that, despite having machines available in the women’s area, women want to be in the everyone’s area all the time while the women’s area is usually empty. The result is that there’s no space for everyone to train in and men just have to queue to be able to train at peak times, usually in the late afternoon. We all pay the same, we all need our exercise, why are men having less ? Because we share the same gender with rapists ? How is that my fault ?

I can see the exact same thing happening with transportation. You limit men’s available commute space on account of having an unsafe space for women, then the women’s carriage goes empty while the everyone carriage forces everyone to be up against everyone. This is unacceptable. I have been sexually harassed as a man in public transportation too and while i recognize it’s not as bad for me as it is for women, because it only happened a few times, it always happened by forcing me to be smushed against a ton of people.

I would prefer if everyone respected everyone and we could live like civilized people together in an equal and safe society, where nobody was threatened, harassed or raped, but if we’re going to start sex segregation at least do it in such a manner so that everyone has equal amounts of space and opportunity to carry out their lives without being inconvenienced. If we segregate spaces, make x space for women, x space for men and x for everyone together. None of this special places just for women while everyone pays the same crap. That way if the common area is too full, i can just move to the men only area and that’s it. If we can’t be decent, at least let’s try to be fair.

Who would’ve thought that an industry that disregarded and actively attacked and insulted their viewer/reader base, who gained a fame for 10/10ing all games under the sun and folding to the most miniscule of complaints from pressure groups would end up not having viewers/readers at all ? Not to mention hiring people who hate video games, can’t play them and/or plagiarize footage from youtube to showcase the game as journalists.
