Yes, once you build a new PC, you can only play demanding games! Thats how we all do it
I also have a 2014-ish desktop. Over the years added an SSD and replaced the graphics card around 5 years ago.
I can still run most games on medium settings, even some new ones if they are properly optimized, but nothing crazy, 1080p.
I just started to feel that my rig is getting slower and even AA games become more demanding.
I fully support using hardware as long as possible to minimise e-waste and see no reason to upgrade a PC every 2-3 years.

That was something. We watched it with a group of friends and half the people were stunned and some had no idea whats going on, but enjoyed it regardless.

Building a new PC soon and really thinking about to try out one of the more gaming focused distros, so happy to see there will be multiple to choose from. I’m on Mint for a while now and had very good experience with gaming and performance. Normally I would not have time to do the whole “distro hop” thing, but damn I just might :)
