The problem for me, is that I know I am a clear and present danger to myself. I have been for years. If I go to a therapist, they will likely agree that I am deeply suicidal. I cannot express to you how much I do NOT want to be put on a 72 hr hold. The very idea that that is possible fills me with rage. I simply do not trust them.

That’s a nice story and all, but what happens when your wife is an immigrant and your neighbors all decide to “do something about it?” Or they just say nothing as the federal goons come to deport them.

Sorry OP, wish I could give you some advice other than try to save some money and get a gun. Either to end the life of those who would do you harm, or for yourself when things become truly unbearable. Hard times are coming for all of us and they will last until we die, how bad things get is partially up to us. Do we just let them steamroll over us? I should hope not.

There cannot be peace with the current makeup of groups in the middle east. Some groups have to either, deradicalize (yeah right), leave or be killed by the others. There’s no solution that will make you happy, or me or anyone. Many people will have to die before that mess is sorted out. Who those people are is up to the tax money from the USA I feel. Personally, I feel like colonization is bad and colonizers are bad people. So if Israel has made all of their neighbours unable to tolerate their existence by being colonizing pieces of shit for generations, that’s just unfortunate for them. I suppose they will have to leave or deradicalize.

I am a part of this group and everyone I work with thinks that it is capitalism’s fault, and the fault of the rich. The main problem is that they seem to think that the Republicans are going to help the poor because of decades of propaganda. There are a lot of conservatives who are in a prime position to be flipped. It’s like hate fucking. There are strong emotions but love and hate are not opposites, if you can redirect that hate at the right people, they may actually flip sides.

I am feeling unusually optimistic today so take this with a grain of salt. Talk to them about the specifics you hate about capitalism and how things could be different. Don’t mention ideologies.

That’s only true when you are dealing with the infinite growth of capitalism. Nations and empires have used the gold standard for thousands of years. It only became “impossible” when we tried to inflate the value of economies into the stratosphere to enrich the aristocrats of society.
