The faction that was blocking the bill has the green light to get stuck into the West Bank now trumps in and Gaza is quickly becoming an ever smaller death camp which is bad optics with little upside.
‘Guys, we can now annex the west bank, go back and fuck up Gaza whenever we want with US supports. Let’s take the optical win’

1·1 year agoCould the genetic diathesis in the stress-diathesis model of disease for both psychiatric and medical illness be staring us in the face?
A) The third party voters convinced a lot of people not to vote.
B) You owe it to yourself to vote for the better option. All that over complication you’re doing is meaningless. Third parties can’t win. In reality the choice was Trump or not-Trump.
7·1 year agoBsky is gaining ground over mastodon due to clear UX problems that need to be fixed if they want to compete.
Bsky isn’t perfect but it’s miles better than X and any support for better alternatives should be celebrated.
11·1 year agoRelay only costs a few hundred to run, regular people are already doing this. Also have Jetstream as a lightweight alternative.

The lack of decentralisation atm is not inherent and reflects the early growth stage. If they started to act like wanks there’d be a greater push to fork and build up parallel instances. Last I checked they were still working on improving the scalability of the protocol before building it out.
It isn’t proprietary though. You can run your own instance. Not decentralised atm but nothing indicating they aren’t pushing towards that.
That doesn’t happen here. They do spot checks sometimes on big scan and go shops where they pick 5 or so random items to scan to confirm you’ve done it right but you only get selected like 10% of the time.
