It’s hard, really truly hard. If you honestly believe it was before you were officially together, before he had feelings for you, before any ideas of choosing you were involved then you might be able to move past it. The fact he offered the information means he likely isn’t doing this regularly or planned to again, maybe something that needed closure. If one last time with the ex before all communication is cut, then maybe that’s why, but he still chose that over what he had in future. I hope you’re okay, it is a stomach churning uncomfortable feeling of loss, and if you can’t move past it, then what you have is broken and will be really difficult to heal.
