  • Capitalism is feudalism with a marketing team.

Land/capital shouldn’t be more important than people. Economies are supposed to be lowly tool of a society to maximize the equitable and efficient distribution of goods and services within a society for the benefit of the citizens of said society, not a few thousand sociopath families at most of society’s expense as it is.

Our society (the US in my case, but increasingly the entire west) literally lives in perpetual servitude to one of its broken tools. A catastrophe should have leaders coming out saying they’ll take every measure to protect their people and society, not their fucking economy and it’s quarterly private profit expectations.

  • I wonder how many US Presidents actually were believers and how many were just going through the motions because until recently in our history not identifying as one made you a pariah in the US, unwelcome in all the little clubs that could lead to the Presidency.

Obama seemed way too logical and analytical to actually buy into such irrational things. Trump clearly doesn’t, purely out of narcissistic self-importance making himself his own deity/object of worship.

  • The fact that, even with the advent of digital records, humanity seems incapable of retaining the lessons of history gives me a a pessimistic outlook for our future.

It only took a single human lifespan for fascism to be on the rise again in Germany, and for their former victims to be undertaking their own final solution.

Same goes for the Great Depression here in the US, only took 50 years for the Reagan Revolution to hand all the power right back to the avarice ruled profiteer class to thunderous American applause, and many still act confused as to why that’s a catastrophe, as if bread lines and children/seniors literally starving to death in the streets, and yes we’re barreling back to that, was some kind of a fairy tale.

  • and with enough money I don’t care.

    Most people are like you.

Which is precisely why humanity will be just another of many dead end evolutionary cul-de-sacs in Earth’s natural history.

I’ve come to peace with that, but this is a nice microcosm of the core reason. We can do better, we know better, but at the end of the day, almost all of us will just take the animalistic dopamine rush of winning.

Live together or die alone. We choose the second one like breathing.

If most humans were like Kempf (we’re not), we’d actually have a chance.

  • I see it as my sacred duty as a peasant to undermine the profit of my workplace wherever safely possible.

When the class war is long lost and one is living under class occupation, guerilla tactics become the only option.

We didn’t set these hostile terms, American employers chose to treat their workforces as disposable liabilities rather than valued partners who all stand to prosper (as many once did prior to the Jack Welch/Reaganomics cultural grift), but we can sure as hell game and undermine them.

  • It isn’t double standards, it’s patience for a fledgling replacement platform that seeks to free you from being a commodity to be exploited and sold, and lack of patience for the established, exclusively profit hungry platforms that continue to make your experience worse and disrespect you, solely to squeeze a few extra pennies out of you to meet insatiable, unquenchable growth/metastasis expectations.

It’s the difference between yelling at a professional pickpocket trying to rob you and a kid who is screwing up trying to help you. Resources matter, but more importantly, motivations matter.
