Luckily I only lost power for around 10 hours the first night. Some people a block away weren’t so lucky and were out for 3 days. This was definitely a wake up call that we probably need a generator or something for this winter.

We lost power for 48 hours, which wasn’t so bad. The worst part was how messed up the roads were/are. We couldn’t even get to a place with power to eat out. :/

Edit: Hobart still doesn’t have power (currently stuck in traffic due to stop lights that are out). What s fucking mess…

I see I’m not the only one who screenshotted this. I find it hilarious in a wow-our-infrastructure-is-fragile and at-least-we-arent-alone kind of way.

I’m honestly surprised by how much trouble everyone is going through right now. Winds didn’t seem bad on first hill, I’m guessing a lot of lines got knocked down by branches?

They were bad out in the cascade foothills (North bend, maple valley, enumclaw). Roads are still closed from downed trees and power lines, traffic lights are out, power is estimated to come back on in my area on Friday afternoon. A tree fell on my house, which is a really pain in the rear. I don’t think the city got too much wind.

That sucks, sorry you’re going through that. Hope the damage isn’t too bad.

Does this happen often? I’m guessing no, based on how extensive the damage appears.

Where we are in Beacon Hill shows red, but we have power. Safe and warm. Hoping power comes back soon for everyone!
