Because apparently we haven’t learned the lessons of RBG, and Sotomayor is happy to be keeping Aileen Cannon’s seat warm for her…

EDIT: We have a 51 seat majority right now, with Harris to break ties for the next two months. Manchin’s vote should not matter, and Republicans do not have the votes to stop it. If McConnell can cram through a last-second nominee in a couple of months, so can we. All you people downvoting this…this is why Democrats have the reputation they do. They absolutely can ask her to step down and push through a nomination in 2 months, keeping her seat safe for 4 years.

But instead, we’ll end up with a 7-2 majority and all of you people wondering why.

The lesson here is that if we were going to replace her it should have been a year ago. Republicans aren’t going to allow Biden to appoint a justice post-election. Get real.

We have 51 seats in the Senate, and Harris to break ties for the next two months. Republicans have no say in the matter.

If the Republicans can cram through a SC nominee, so can we

The lesson of RBG is that people in their 80s with cancer don’t have great life expectancy.

That lesson does not apply to Sotomayor, who is 70 and (AFAIK) healthy.

There is almost no chance Democrats would be able to confirm a new justice at this point.

Sotomayor stepping down would literally just be a gimme for the GOP.

Even if she stepped down today, Biden wouldn’t be able to replace her. Makes no sense to force her out at just 70, she has plenty of time left.

What WILL happen is Trump will convince Thomas and Alito to leave, just like he did Kennedy, and replace them giving us a 5-4 Trump court for the rest of our lives.

I wonder what makes you think the Senate won’t do the same shit they did to Obama on his way out?

There is no way they would consider approving anyone Biden nominates with our incoming Kaiser.

Luckily the people that know how that would go aren’t listening to this silliness.

Democrats aren’t going to do shit other than sit around complain and sometimes talk about having to take the high road. The fucking “high road” let Trump run wild and remain free. Fuck pussy ass Joe Biden for not insuring that terrorist was unable to become fucking president!
