Presenting a giveaway as random and then not following through with a random selection is very illegal. I guess it shouldn’t be too surprising that Musk’s lawyer just straight up admitted to a felony in court, given that there’s no way a competent lawyer would have ever signed off on this and put himself in a situation where he’d have to defend it in court. Not unless Musk is willing to pay him so much that he’ll never need to practice law again.

Unfortunate that they weren’t able to do anything to stop the election interference. But there’s enough blatant criminal activity here that there should be no reason why they can’t press charges (state and federal) and throw his ass in prison. They just need to be willing to go after him, and also not have Trump in the white house protecting him.

That actually makes sense. What if some little scammer like me won? I’d cash the check and start screaming.

“Fuck Trump! Fuck Musk! You two gullible idiots just paid me $1M and gave me a platform!”

Chris Young, the director and treasurer of America PAC, testified that the recipients are vetted ahead of time, to “feel out their personality, (and) make sure they were someone whose values aligned” with the group.

So it’s a scam designed to get ordinary people to align with the policies of the richest man on earth for the promise of monetary reward that never will actually materialize. Or, as it’s known in the US, Republican politics.

The most infuriating thing about this is there is no injunction stopping it. So it will do damage.
