Pennsylvania Democrats have won legal challenges keeping the left-wing Party for Socialism and Liberation off the battleground state’s presidential ballot, at least for now, while a lawyer with deep Republican Party ties is working to help independent candidate Cornel West get on it.

Not by throwing somebody at the presidency once every 4 years, no.

You need to develop local political establishments, structures of dual-power, and either replace one of the 2 parties at some level, or change the electoral FPTP (First Past the Post) system that gives us 2 parties.

Be it ranked-choice, approval voting, S.T.A.R. voting, pretty much any of these are better (though admittedly, with their own unique setbacks) than FPTP voting. That’s not to mention gerrymandering, or electoral finance reform!

There’s a thousand steps before you get to the point of electing a President who’s neither a Democrat nor a Republican.

If you can’t get a senate seat or even a house seat, it’s definitely pretty pretty silly to just think you can slide into the presidency. You can always ask yourself though, why don’t they run for winnable races? Why start by aiming straight at the top when you have literally no backup in the legislature? Probably because they’re just trying to push a platform.

The president can’t even do jack shit without congressional support, look at Obamas last 6 years. Just executive orders that Trump rolled back.
