TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — Honeywell Aerospace announced an expansion Wednesday that includes a new $500 million manufacturing facility in Tempe.
The 300,000-square-foot facility will support the largest commercial and defense customers in aerospace and aviation.
“Demand for technology from Honeywell Aerospace continues to accelerate across both commercial and defense markets, and this major investment ensures we can continue delivering for our customers while unlocking long-term growth for our shareholders,” said Jim Currier, president and chief executive officer of Honeywell Aerospace. “This is an example of how our recent spin into an independent, publicly-traded Honeywell Aerospace allows us to make decisions and investments that support our growth and the future of aviation and defense.”
The company said the new facility will allow for growth in production of defense technologies after signing an agreement with the Department of Defense in March.

The facility is expected to bring 600 jobs to Tempe, as well as 1,000 jobs during construction. It is scheduled to open in late 2028.
