When playing 1080p H264 SDR movie files (seems to be related to longer media forms rather than shorter ones) with hardware acceleration turned on I am seeing jellyfin crash inexplicably without a message in the “log_YYYYMMDD_001.log” file or any message in the ffmpeg log file.
I am running the default settings related to transcoding otherwise and have updated jellyfin and ffmpeg to the latest versions. My drive where I transcode to has at least 25GB of space available.
The error only started occurring in the last couple of days without a clear cause. I have not changed any settings and have only been adding media to my drives. The same 1080p H264 SDR movie that I watched an hour of last weekend now won’t play for more than 30 seconds, so it does seem like something has happened in the last week. The issue doesn’t seem to occur when playing a shorter 1080p H264 SDR file (e.g. a TV show episode).
Is anyone able to suggest where I can find more log file info that might help me troubleshoot? Looking for other instances of this issue online, it seems like people usually encounter an ffmpeg error that causes a crash but that isnt what I find in my logs. I cant find any terminal issue causing the crash! I have included the ffmpeg log below if that helps at all.
