He’s a family practice physician (not psychiatrist or researcher) who likes to write books and speak authoritatively on platforms like Joe Rogan about ADHD (amongst other things). His whole thing is to deny genetic factors and blame children for being too sensitive and parents for not parenting right.

I do not agree with Maté on many of his conclusions nor particularly enjoy his writing, you are misrepresenting his arguments and misinforming people.
He has quite a range of topics he has addressed, and while his fairly recent take on ADHD is unscientific, it’s not representative of his other writings.
