1·1 year agoYes, they are a marketing technique, but I don’t know of any other legal way to share them. Please give me any ideas you may have. Thanks.

World News@lemmy.world•Human Rights Watch: Israel is guilty of extermination and acts of genocide in GazaEnglish
102·1 year agoYes, and it is very positive that prominent human rights groups agree and document it. These reports can be used to pressure governments, universities, etc. to divest from Israel and to stop sending arms, software, etc. to Israel.

2·1 year agoI agree that posting this without any clarifying critical comments was a mistake. But I still think it was worth posting for the reasons I stated in another post.

Palestine@lemmy.ml•I don’t want to argue about genocide. I just want to honor Mahmoud. English
3·1 year agoYes, that’s true, but I thought that a pro-Israel Jewish US publication having an opinion piece favorable to Gaza was worth sharing. It helps to break down the demonization of Palestinians that is so widespread in the US.
It’s not an article that will give someone brilliant insights into the reality of Zionism, but it helps create space for discussion with a broader set of people.

Palestine@lemmy.ml•Joe Biden reads Rashid Khalidi, and so should American JewsEnglish
2·1 year agoRight, and he just bought the book a few days ago. Highly unlikely that he will change anything. But I posted this because it might be useful for those of us who know people still sitting on the fence. This article could be something that they would read.
Public opinion in the Western countries has shifted a lot against Israel, but we still need to educate more people, and mobilize them against Israel’s genocide.

News@lemmy.world•How the Trump administration and congressional Republicans may crack down on pro-Palestinian protestersEnglish
81·1 year agoAren’t the elections over? Whatever “strategic” excuse for supporting Biden/Harris is gone now. It’s a bi-partisan policy of unconditional support for Israel.
It’s true Trump will be more extreme, but there is no longer any excuse for going easy on Biden/Harris, if there ever was.

Progressive Politics@lemmy.world•AOC votes to back Israel lobby's bogus "anti-Semitism" definitionEnglish
31·1 year agoWow, that is very disappointing, to put it mildly. Of course, it is just the latest in a series of actions that have pulled her away from support for Palestine. Her Instagram meeting on antisemitism with 3 pro-israel figures, plus her awful speech in support of Harris at the DNC gave us a clear indication of her direction.

1·1 year agoI have. One good article for you to read is https://forward.com/news/673303/dutch-jews-israeli-attack-politics-antisemitism/
It’s from a well-known Jewish publication, and it mentions that the Israeli soccer fans were very organized and hyped up. Not passive victims.

Palestine@lemmy.ml•"We warned you," Muslim voters tell Kamala Harris after she goes down in flamesEnglish
21·1 year agoI don’t think that they will be surprised at whatever horrible things that Trump might do. Very few of them thought that Trump would be better. It was a protest against the treachery of the Democrats.
Peter Link@lemmy.mlOPtoUnited States | News & Politics@lemmy.ml•"We warned you," Muslim voters tell Kamala Harris after she goes down in flamesEnglish
2·1 year agoNo, there is no “right” choice here, if you mean something that is going to benefit Palestine and Gaza in the short term. The vast majority of those who voted against Harris knew that Trump won’t be better, but they could not go along with a candidate actively involved in genocide. Plus, they wanted to let the Democrats know that they would pay a price for their treachery. As it turned out, the pro-Palestine vote against Harris had a very clear effect in Michigan and Wisconsin, but it can’t be blamed for her defeat.
What did you think about the article itself? Did you read it?
