Yeah, I read the headline and thought “they hadn’t done that already?”
They grouped up in telegram chats and started sending bomb threats to elementary schools
Jake Paul’s a fucking tool, but it’s pretty fucked up to wish a horrible brain disease on someone my guy…
(note - I’m a relative noob for boxing. I attend semi regular classes at a local gym but don’t tend to watch much at all)
Boxing requires a huge depth of skill and not a huge breadth. It’s one of those sports where the basics are 99% of the sport. Definitely makes it seem like 2 dudes just going at each other, but the amount of skill and raw stamina needed to be remotely competitive is insane. Even with gloves, those punches still hurt like a mother fucker and then you’re expected to not only keep going after receiving a few dozen, but expected to dish out your own
And have to dig up even more earth using even more big machines? If you did a 50ft power line underground, that’s 50 ft of earth that has to be dug up, not to mention what happens whenever something inevitably goes wrong and you have to dig it all up again. Then you also have to bury transformers, which means you need to cool them.
There’s many, many good reasons that we use power lines over burying them. Mostly, power lines are so significantly cheaper and easier that it’s not even comparable. I’ve seen the bill when a buried fiber line gets broken. It is crazy expensive.
Yeah, Trump looks like he’s from a polaroid and Diddy seems like a digital camera. It’s definitely some weird lighting conditions
Ah, appreciate it! Love a cool depth of field and lighting effect making things look fake effect, but not when its something actually important!
Honest question - is that second Diddy pic real? The lighting looks really strange to me for some reason. Not like AI, more semi decent at best photoshop
Went back to a TN high school recently for the first time since graduating to do some work.
They had to call local police to check my tool box to make sure it didn’t have a gun hidden anywhere, which took almost an hour.
Every single door is locked constantly. Every classroom is locked with a key, so anyone needing to get inside needs the knock to be let in and disturb class. If the teacher needs to go to the bathroom between periods, all the students not already in the class are locked outside.
At one point, I left a door propped open cause I didn’t want to disturb the people running lines. The principal, who used to be my principal at another school, attempted to give yell at me over it.
They’ve also distributed an iPad to every student to act as a hall pass. Except they have to request the pass, raise their hand, ask to use the bathroom, then the teacher has to pull out their iPad and approve it. All of this takes a ton of time.
Starting this year, they only get 3 passes a day. Period. Anymore and the principal has to approve it personally or it’s detention. They have nothing in place to make it so kids with intestinal issues can have more passes, and this systems been in place for 3 years now. Every student I talked to told me they knew someone who pissed their pants in class because they weren’t allowed to leave under threat of detention or suspension.
TN schools and TN in general is just fucked beyond belief now. And the people who put all these ridiculous policies into place are all currently running unopposed.
The Covenant School shooting and moronic conservative parents having an insane amount of control has straight up regresses TN schools to a worse point of security theatre than post columbine or 9/11. All over a single shooting.
Edit: apologies for my horrendous grammar. However, I’m currently too tired to fix it right now
They’ve actually all finished the story afaik. And all the things you listed were the main reasons they all didn’t like the game.
Can you tell me what you liked about it? I’m not a fan in general (looter shooters like that just aren’t my thing), but all my friends are, and none of them have ever had a positive thing to say about 3, with opinions ranging from meh at best to absolutely awful. Hell, even the guy in our group who unironically loves bad games even had nothing good to say
I’m not super familiar with cars either, but for people that are, things like the fuel door and cap are unique between different makes and models. If you stare at cars enough, you just kinda begin to know these things
Lmao, I knew it was citation needed, just got the wrong bird!
Was it the Stephens Island Wren?
I had a friend like this in college. His name was AJ. That’s it. Just the letters.
Everyone in the department spent ages trying to guess what it stood for. I managed to glance his ID when we got lunch together once. His name was just AJ. There weren’t even periods marking it as an abbreviation.
Still haven’t told anyone though
Oh thank God I’m not crazy
To make things worse, we’ve known they were ineffective for over 20 years
For everyone’s reference, D.A.R.E (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) was not only ineffective, they were anti-effective. Their presence and total demonization of weed not only didn’t reduce drug usage rates, they frequently increased the rates.
They’ve been known to be ineffective since at least 2004: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1448384/
DARE is a wild program. They finally admitted defeat to drugs and have switched to suicide prevention. The kids that do petitions for them, at least around me, are militant. I had one follow me into a restaurant to keep pestering me. Didn’t stop until I told the children to kindly fuck off already
The rich and powerful will still be buying meat at the insane rates, and their opinions are the only ones the other rich and powerful care about
