Conservation laws, threatened species lists and monitoring programs usually work at the species level. If several species are mistakenly treated as one, a declining species can be hidden inside a larger group that looks secure.

As we stand at the precipice of Earth’s sixth mass extinction, this has never been more important.

Recognising hidden biodiversity does not solve conservation problems by itself.

Yep. I checked that site and it definitely doesn’t show any issues, clearly everything is working.

Plenty of other folks are chiming in with the same experiences. It’s very clearly not just Hexbear. Is every other instance broken? Why are they federating just fine with each other, then?

I assume world is more broadly federated, but could be wrong. There’s definitely something specifically up with ml though.

It doesn’t show anything different when I reverse them, but the problem isn’t outgoing it’s incoming.

Yes, but it’s far more frequent to see articles that place the burden of conservation on the global south.

For once we aren’t burdening the global south with the responsibility to save the world from the global north
