Biased as fuck lol. Installing windows is not difficult. I did it first time at the age of 8 witn WIndows 98 and their newer installers are made so the general public can do it. And the bloat and spyware? Thats windows dude. Its not meant to be your OS, its meant to spy on your ass at the benefit of being familiar and (relative) easy to use. Anything you do to it post clean install is your own tinkering. Linux distros are great yall, but install difficulty is not a metric I would use to attack windows. Comparing between distros makes sense.

  • If a security flaw is discovered and patched, it is a good sign the manufacturer is standing by their product and providing support. AFAIK, tp link does push regular fw updates for their omada gear. I’ve had two in the last month.

In your case, I’d open a support ticket with that issue and see what tp link thinks directly. If you don’t like their reply or are ignored, you will have your answer on whether or not you should switch.

I feel like men do have it tough and when men start talking about it, they get shutdown and told to be a man. Boys dont cry afterall. So some men may feel its unfair when women speak up and are heard. So they want to make it about them. In the comic, just as the men are dismissive of woman problems, she is dismissive of mens problems. Instead of attacking an unfair weath class system, we bicker about shupid shit like men vs women. Its not race, gender or sexuality we should be discussing. Its social, weath classes.

  • I did some quick math to see how overexagirated prices were for preeschool.

Average pay here is (in EUR gross) 2400 + 200 lunch/transportation cost. So the average worker costs a company ~3000 (so called gross-gross as each company has to contribute taxes per worker).

Given an adult/child ratio of 1 : 8 and a school of 80 kids. The teachers would cost 30k EUR in salaries alone. This comes to 375 EUR per child. Add 80 for food and its 455 eur. No maintenance costs or room for profit here. Lets round it to 500 EUR for that.

If the ratio is 1 : 10. Its 75 EUR cheaper.

As mentioned the average sallary is 2400 gross, this comes down to 1500 net. 500 EUR is one third of 1500 EUR. I obviously didnt use real teacher wages and used the average, didnt account for maintenance workers, heating, accounting or anything else. The prices actually sound reasonable but are a little lower due to subsidies.

  • And those “reasons” were plentiful. Most importantly is their market share. From a purely business perspective, if a distributor has 200% more users and charges 100% more while offering the same features, they will be the better choice - purely from en economical perspective. 30% is ok because you will reach a larger audience and if so many publishers disagreed with Steam’s cut, they wouldnt all come crawlin’ back would they? In other words, the market dictates the price and the market has decided that price is 30%. It doesnt matter who does or doesnt defend it. Thats what it is.

  • Well I guess I’ll just stop buying things then because all Im doing is contributing to some billionaire’s cocaine fund. This is capitalism. I learned to live with it. When the time comes to sieze the means of production and give power back to the proletariat, I’ll be there to help. Until then, I’d rather give Gabe my money so he can shove more ships up his ass than give it to Sweeney because at least Gabe will throw a penny back into linux gaming. Ill take the crumbs if I can get them because Im not a 21 year old student with a burning desire to change the system anymore.

  • AFAIK it falls to a lower percentage if you sell more copies. As to why I dont mind the fee as a consumer; valve invests its earnings into linux gaming and does cool shit like that. I can’t remember the last time i aplauded ea or ubisoft or epic for doing something like that. Oh yeah… it was never. Id sooner applaud Microsoft for investing into a non lucrative venture like accessible gaming accessories. But they aren’t on the same playing field… so from them, I’d expect it.

If i were a developer, I’d let valve eat the 30%. The amount of customers they bring to the table, deal with chargebacks, host the files. That shit isn’t free. Epic has to take such a low amount because they don’t have as many users and can’t produce such sales numbers and don’t have to deal with as many chargebcks and don’t have to waste as much bandwidth hosting the files.
