And there’s no hobbits, wizards, or treants, and the film doesn’t need them: Helm, Hera and Wolf leave you in no doubt where it is set. And there’s plenty of touches from the wider world too.

This is a fan’s film and a bit of lore will serve you well, but isn’t required. Worth seeing on the big screen with sweeping shots to grin at, audioscapes to lift the hairs on your arms, and a story that is fleet of foot and will suck you in. And Hera’s finale is fantastic in that outfit

I thought it was great, sure a bit young adult at times, but all of LotR can be at times. Animation I enjoyed, voice acting pretty great, good storyline - though a few too many plot holes at Helm’s deep for me. Wish I had seen more of the cousin and a little less siege I think. But what a siege!
