The remake is soo good. They really nailed it. Kept the good bits and updated the bad. They even fixed the asteroids turret section, it’s actually really fun in the remake.

Take a cooking class. Learn how to manage a kitchen fire with a fire blanket or extinguisher and get one of each. Start practicing. You’ll burn stuff and make food that’s no good but you’ll get better. Start simple with stuff like pasta.
An option to consider is asking your dr’s to help you. They should be happy to talk to your family with or for you.
That’s impressive. My wife got all the achievements for it and that seemed very stressful. But just as something to experience is a really chill game.
Journey is a beautiful game with excellent music and visuals. It’s coop where you can only make a ping noise and run around each other so no possibility of negative interactions. There’s a little challenge and adversity at times but the ending is phenomenal and joyous.
Sayonara wild hearts is a playable music album about a lady learning how to love herself. It’s got simple game mechanics but the mechanics all compliment the music and the music is so so good.
Pain does suck.
We’ve moved away from nsaids (naproxen and ibuprofen) because of the stomach ulcers. If it doesn’t help try taking regular paracetamol instead it might help a bit and won’t mess up your stomach.
So something I tell my patients after they have had a surgery is that our goal with pain killers is to make the pain bearable rather than gone. Paracetamol is a great painkiller and helps opioids to work better. It’s also non addictive and provided you don’t take more than the packet recommends very safe.
For chronic pain the current thinking is it’s multifactorial, but basically your brain gets set with your pain threshold too low, there is also a huge psychological element to pain and therapy or things like CBT can be hugely beneficial.
For me paracetamol and codeine have been enough to manage all the pain I’ve had, the worst being when I fell off my bike and smashed my ribs (pretty sure I didn’t break any), luckily I’m in the 90% of people who can metabolise codeine to something more useful. Didn’t make the pain go away but meant I could breathe a full breath without flinching. Codeine at lower doses just makes me a bit drowsy and slow. Good for getting to sleep.
I’m still regularly going back to Hotdogs Horseshoes and Hand grenades to play take and hold. Easily my favourite VR game.
Phogs - simple puzzle platformer where you play an end of a 2 headed snake dog.
Lovers in a dangerous space time - share control of your spaceship to rescue cute animals. Take turns driving, manning the weapons or shields. Top down camera
Overcooked 1 and 2 - flammable chaotic cooking adventures. Top down camera.
Trine 1-4 are all pretty decent for some side scrolling puzzle action platforming.
Diablo 3 (on console as pc doesn’t have local for some stupid reason) is a great action RPG.
I’m playing fallout London. Super impressive for a mod. I’m really enjoying it.
This looks real interesting. I’ll definitely keep an eye out for it and see what the reviews say.
You can generally get a deal on the basic ps plus which gets you it for cheaper. They tend to be around Christmas and black Friday in the UK at least. That makes it about the price of one game per year for online which isn’t too bad for my budget. I do agree that it’s silly to play for access to our own internet but that’s what the consoles all do now so unless everyone switches to pc we are stuck with it. I also tend strongly towards patient gaming so the monthly games are often ones I’ve been waiting to come up for cheap. Little nightmares 2 this month was the only one I was interested in but we’ve recently had Tunic which was excellent.
I recently got myself an Anbernic, it’s the one which looks like the GBA, see through plastic and all. It’s a surprisingly competent little console. It even comes preloaded with a shed load of retro games. I’ve been enjoying playing games from systems I missed out on growing up.
My family had about 5 of these between us by the time we started getting into lites and 3d versions. I had the original chunky boy and a 3ds. We took them on holiday and played the brain training multiplayer games. Great fun, my parents even got into them for a bit and they said off video games a long time beforehand.
Depending on what you’re going for, 1 and give them a German accent. Otherwise 2.
I think that’s maybe a bit harsh compared to a lot of the games mentioned here. Witcher 1 definitely has a lot of problems compared to 2 and 3 but it had a lot going for it as well. Sure the combat was broken as hell once you got all the spinning moves and it was super sexist with the women as trading cards thing. But the story and world building were still fun and Geralt was well characterised. It’s not a great game but it did well enough to get them the sequels. Definitely nowhere near the worst game I’ve played.
We used to watch a lot of game theory. Really enjoyed the over analysis. Stopped part way down the 5 nights at Freddie’s rabbit hole when all the drama started.
Good for you. I hope the move goes smoothly.
Snap I’m really enjoying this season. Hopefully they can stick the ending.
I absolutely loved it until the game forced you into a monastery and totally killed the pacing and my interest. I should maybe go back and try to get past that bit.
