What is better about this than a 4tb firecuda drive for less money?
Check serverpartdeals, they have tons of stock. I’m currently looking at buying several of these over the next year or two.
What an interesting read. You made my day!
What are thaw things you process used for?
I fear I might not have results soon. I am going to stick around until Pop Cosmic comes, and then switch to bazzite or tumbleweed if it doesn’t tickle me pink. I am going to install a couple on a 2nd drive, but won’t be using them as my daily driver until cosmic.
Thank you, that was helpful. Right now, Tumbleweed is currently in the lead, though I’m going to trial several of them.
Thank you for this. From the replies in both of my posts, I’m leaning towards either tumbleweed or bazzite/aurora. Both seem great, but maybe tumbleweed is slightly ahead in my mind. I’ll probably try 2 or 3 distros anyway.
Thanks for the review. Like you said, hardware may or may not be a concern. I built this pc years ago with windows in mind and I plan to build one again at some point. With people praising the non-Debian distros in my list, I might just go that route and see how it goes.
Well KDE was more important to me than rolling releases, plus they were Debian based which I liked. I have heard good things about bazzite, I’ll have to check it out. Tumbleweed was my first choice for a non-Debian distro in that list, so I’m glad you’re confirming my hunch that it would be great for KDE. I’m okay with ditching Debian-based if it means a better experience in the end.
I did, which is why KDE is a hard requirement here. But pop OS and its many useful tools are dependent on gnome so I feel the need to switch distros to one that isn’t packaged with an entire suite of software I don’t want to use, and one that has more common support for KDE.
Very nice. I haven’t even looked, are there any other popular fully featured weather apps native to Linux?
I have one of these on my shelf. My wife got one in a wedding party gift bag a few years ago.
But can the US stand up to the Dark Clown-shark Serial Killers, who constantly remind us of our own mortality?
I think it’s more like “Front. Toward enemy.”
I’ve been using dark mode for ages with dark reader. I honestly didn’t know it didn’t have a native dark mode.
I’ve seen people (lesbians) talk about it, so I’m leaning toward “yes they can but not always”, but I cannot give an authoritative answer as I am not a lesbian.
I love that it doesn’t unlock any features, but it does prominently display in the app as “activated” or whatever. It feels like “yeah, I have paid my portion, I am now entitled to use this forever guilt-free”
I have subscribed to a couple projects on github (the recurring payment thing) and purchased the optional immich license. I think the immich license is a great model, and more projects should do it.
Why does this still exist? It’s literally always negative.
This is why I hate ACAB. The time it could take for a random good person to realize not only is their profession infested with evil, but then also find a new job and quit, is substantial enough that combined with the churn rate and number of cops, I may be calling millions of good people bastards for no good reason, which may actually make those people tend to disagree with me and my ideas that the police system itself is corrupt. They know they aren’t a bastard and from their perspective I’m just insulting them mindlessly. Someone insulting you for no reason can’t be that wise of a person, or have that good of an argument, they might think.
The system is corrupt. Many of the people are fine. Stop name calling people you’ve never met like children. Lower police funding. Demilitarize them. Restrict their powers. Investigate them more. Make punishments more strict for those with any power at all. But don’t call random people you’ve never met or even heard about bastards.
